Brief description: Commissioned by KMNE, this research examined the situation of Hungarian large families in Transcarpathia, with particular attention to the social consequences of the Russo-Ukrainian war. The study addressed the following key areas: identity, migration, livelihoods, family circumstances, economic difficulties, religiosity, and a comparison of conditions before and after the outbreak of the war. The findings provided a comprehensive picture of how families’ sense of security, everyday functioning, and outlook for the future have changed under the new circumstances. The research showed that, despite the difficulties they face, family and community cohesion, as well as religious ties, continue to represent important sources of strength for Hungarian families in Transcarpathia.
